Take my Heart

June 20, 2021 | Poetry | No Comments

Take my fragile heart and hold it
Take my calloused heart and mold it
Take my heart of stone and melt it before your throne
Take this broken wounded heart that’s bleeding and fill me with the love I am needing

Take the heart I gave away to other lovers, you can have it all now I want no others.
Take my heart full of darkness and flood it with the purest light and cleanse my heart-mess
Take the heart that I was supposed to give you a long time ago.
Take the heart that was always supposed to be yours.

Take what belongs to you. Take it all. I can’t reject your kindness anymore.
I’m tired of you chasing me. I think I’m going to yield. I think I’m going to bend.
I’ve been running away for so long and I’m ready for it to end.
Possess this stubborn heart of this stubborn man.
Take this wounded bleeding heart and hold it in your wounded bleeding hands.
